Authoring
This week I received a book contract from ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education). ISTE is the largest teacher-based, nonprofit organization in the field of educational technology. They literally "write the book" on educational technology (I suppose that is what I will be doing then!).
I had to get a headshot for the book cover. My previous headshot (obtained for a conference brochure in which I was presenting) was pretty nice. One thing that bothers me is authors who have an outdated photo on their books. When I look at the author, I want to see the person who wrote the book, not the person as s/he was ten years ago. So we took several photos. The funny thing about selecting a photo of yourself is that you want the best one (naturally). However, I also wanted the one that looked like me! All of the "serious" poses just didn't convey who I am.
So here is the photo of me as it will appear on the book. Now I just have to get to the hard part- writing the book!!
